July 9 - Happening This Week

Inside: Camp Pinnacle, LILY Moms, Youth Pool Party, Baptism, Blood Drive, QCC, and, Preschool

Let us know you are coming! We need you to register for worship if you plan on attending in person. You can register online at www.fbcthomson.org or you can call the church office to make a reservation. This will help us plan more effectively and have enough overflow seating set up in the Fellowship Hall if necessary. We will continue to offer online services via live-streaming if you are unable to attend or don't feel comfortable attending in-person services yet. We look forward to worshiping in person and continuing to worship online with you!

While on campus we ask that you practice all safety guidelines. Make every effort to keep you, your family, and our church family safe. We encourage you to wear a mask, wash your hands, practice social distancing, and if you or someone in your family doesn't feel well please stay home. Please be diligent about your health and ours.

Bridging the Gap for Pinnacle

Due to COVID 19, all summer sessions at Camp Pinnacle have been canceled. Missions discipleship has been at the heart of Pinnacle since it was established in 1947. Please consider giving to "Bridge the Gap for Pinnacle" and continue the legacy of creating an environment where girls can experience God.  They are 75% of the way to meeting their goal of $60,000! Let's help them meet and surpass their goal to ensure Pinnacle stays strong for future generations. There are three ways to give: 1. Make check payable and mail to BWMU of Georgia, 6405 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth, GA 30097 2. Give online to Bridging the Gap for Pinnacle 3. Give to the FBC Go & Tell Fund

Join us as we celebrate these upcoming baptisms!

I am so excited to share an update on LILY (Life in the Little Years) MOMS! This year we had the opportunity to show God's love to 25 women and 18 children on our campus twice a month. We had the privilege of seeing one of our moms give her life to Christ and many more moms ask to learn how to study God's word! We were able to give each of our moms a beautiful new Bible at the end of the year. Join us in praying that God will continue to move in the hearts of these moms and reveal Himself through His word. We are currently busy preparing for our second year of LILY Moms and need your support! Here are a few ways you can help:

  • Pray for enrollment, for the moms who will attend, and for God to provide all of the small group leaders and mentor moms we need to be successful.

  • Join our leadership team! We need mentor moms—women who have already walked through this stage of life to partner with us to love on these moms who are still navigating the little years. We also need ladies to serve breakfast (no cooking required) and volunteers to help with childcare.

  • You can also help us spread the word about LILY Moms.

LILY Moms is open to all moms who are currently loving, struggling, or just surviving life with little ones between birth and kindergarten. We want to provide an open, accepting atmosphere where the specific needs of mothers of little ones are addressed; including friendship, tips on child-rearing, marriage, managing your home, and your personal life – physically, emotionally, and spiritually! Our group will meet in the Parlor two Thursdays each month from 9:45-11:45 AM from September until May. The annual cost is $40 and covers dues and childcare. Need-based scholarships are available upon request. I love that FBC Thomson is a family affirming church that seeks to serve our community with compassion! Thank you for your support and if you are interested in serving call me, Summer McDonald, in the church office!

While we are in uncertain financial times, it is as important as ever for us to trust in God’s providential care and to give so that the Kingdom’s work can continue. We are still doing ministry, supporting missions, helping with disaster relief, and we still have bills and staff to pay. We encourage you to mail or drop by the church office your tithe and gifts. We also have online giving available on our website and via the Realm Connect app.

The world Amos lived in shared many of the problems and issues we face today. Amos begins his prophetic message with a thunderous roar of judgment against some egregious sins. In this sermon, Pastor David will help us see how God is calling us to account for the same sins today.

Join us in person, listen on WTHO 101.7 FM, or watch our live-stream online.
