Every year, Georgia Baptists send Christmas backpacks to children living in the Appalachian region who live in poverty conditions. The challenge is for our state to send 25,000 backpacks, filled with essential items. First Baptist Church has set a modest goal of 75 backpacks. If each of our Sunday School classes donated 5 backpacks, we would far surpass that goal. Well, one of our classes has issued the challenge to meet and exceed this goal! This quick 2-minute video covers the essentials of what goes in the backpacks, how to pack them, and what to do with them. Our goal is to turn in our backpacks by October 16. This is a great October mission project. And then in November, we will turn our attention to packing shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse! You can find written instructions on the Georgia Baptist website.
