Nursery and Preschool

Our mission is to provide a safe environment where children of all ages can learn that God loves them as well as help their families learn what it means to love God, love people, and make disciples of Jesus. It is a great privilege to care for and nurture your child while you are with us!

“Whoever welcomes one of these little
children in My name welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me does not welcome Me but the one who sent Me.” (Mark 9:36-37)

About Our Nursery. FBC provides a nursery for children birth through three years of age for all Sunday and Wednesday services. Our nursery staff are CPR certified, and everyone who works with our children (of any age) as completed a nationwide criminal background check. Nursery is not "childcare" -- it is a ministry that teaches these children the love of God.

About Our Preschool. FBC offers special preschool programs during our Sunday and Wednesday services. Keep scrolling to learn more about these great programs!

About

Nursery Ministry (6 weeks - 2/3 years)

Where Do I Go?

Our nursery and preschool ministries are located on the middle floor of the three-story education building. Park in the parking lot on the Post Office side--there are parking spaces reserved for nursery families. Enter through the covered entrance and continue down the hall to the elevator. Press "3" and the elevator will let you out onto our nursery foyer. A greeter or safety team member will take you back to the nursery and help you check in.

About Check-in:

We only allow parents/guardians of children in the nursery or preschool to come onto that hall. To drop your child off, you must complete a registration form with contact number, your precise location during the service, all known allergies and medical conditions, and feedings times (for infants). When you check in, you will be given a unique tag; only the person with that tag can take your child home!

What Do I Bring?

Here's what your diaper bag should include: extra diapers, a spare set of clothes, a bottle (with instructions), and a pacifier (if needed).

If There Is an Emergency

We take the safety and well-being of your child very seriously. We keep the nursery/preschool hall locked at all times, and a member of our safety team is always near the door. We do not let anyone on the hall who does not have a reason to be there. We ask that no one bring a child they suspect to be ill. However, if you child falls ill during the service or suffers an injury, we will contact you immediately using your contact number (we will also contact a safety team member who is trained in child first aid). If we do not hear from you shortly, we will send someone to your location to get you. Most children cry the first time they come to a new place with new faces; the only reason we would contact you for crying is if we have been unable to comfort your child.

About Allergies:

We have strict rules about dairy and peanut products. We only serve Goldfish crackers as a snack (unless you tell us otherwise). We have sippy cups with water available as needed.

What's Going On

What you can expect

Sunday Mornings

At 9:30, we have two preschool Sunday School classes (for 2s-3s, and 4s-5s). They have a blast learning the stories of the Bible and making crafts for mom and dad.

At 10:45 (during the worship service), 2s and 3s are invited to stay in the nursery for age-appropriate Children's Church, while 4s and 5s go to "big church" with their family until it is time for their own Children's Church.

Wednesday Evenings

At 6:00, all year round, our preschoolers age 3-5 meet at the end of the preschool/nursery hall in a special room called the Chapel where they have "TinyKID". TinyKID is based on the same program as TeamKID, our missions and Bible-based program for school-aged kids. It's a action-packed hour of games, crafts, music, Bible verses, and what other Christians do all around the world.
