Inside: Triumphant Quartet, Lord's Supper, QCC, February 22, and a reminder about giving.

Alright folks, we're going to hope that the third time's a charm on our Lord's Supper/ Next Steps Lunch and QCC Sunday. We have a lot planned this weekend and in the next couple of weeks. Make sure you're reading the e-newsletters and paying attention to the announcements so you don't miss anything.

Tomorrow is our annual Triumphant Quartet concert! We are looking forward to having them back at On February 1, we will have a Next Steps Lunch after church for guests and new members. This is a great time to get to know more about our church and our staff. We would love to spend this time with you and answer any questions you might have. Please sign up on the connect card in worship or email Christy (ctarver@fbcthomson.org)

As I mentioned earlier, this is our third attempt at this. We will have Lord's Supper as part of worship this Sunday followed by our Next Steps Luncheon. Then at 5:00 PM we will have a Quarterly Church Conference. Please note the time change on this. Our hope is that this will be a brief meeting and you will be home in time to watch the Super Bowl or get together with friends.

Kids can turn in their "For All Generations" banks this weekend because we were out last weekend!

The past couple of weeks have been a little unusual for our church…to say the least! Weather cancellations and safety concerns have kept us from gathering in person, and while missing one Sunday is usually manageable, missing multiple weeks in a row can start to add up. Ministry, however, doesn’t take off snow days—our staff continued working these past two weeks, all our regular activities aside from Sundays have continued, our mission commitments remain, and pastoral care often increases when life gets disrupted (because stress apparently ignores the forecast).
So, allow me to offer a gentle reminder that the work of the Gospel continues through the faithfulness of God’s people despite weather delays. Giving isn’t about convenience; it’s about consistency and our shared responsibility for the ministry God has entrusted to our church. If you’re able, please don’t forget to be faithful and generous with your tithes and offerings just because the weather doesn’t cooperate.
How can you do that? You can bring your gift to the church office, with you on Wednesday night when you come (and give it to Kathy Hendrix, making sure it’s marked as your tithe or appropriate offering), or feel free to give online: https://www.fbcthomson.org/members-giving

Over the past year, we’ve been on a journey together through our For All Generations capital campaign, praying and planning how God might lead us to renew and reimagine our campus so we can continue reaching children and families for Jesus.
Our Education building has been home to decades of ministry: Sunday School, preschool, Vacation Bible School, RAs, GAs, and so many moments where lives were shaped and faith was nurtured. Many of you have personally benefited from what has happened in this building, and we are deeply grateful for the generations before us who had the vision and faith to build it over 60 years ago.
At the same time, this building is not currently reaching its full potential. It needs significant work—from HVAC and plumbing to bathrooms, flooring, ceilings, and reconfiguring rooms to create more usable space. In many ways, this is the area of our campus with the greatest opportunity for renewal.
I’m excited to share that Sunday, February 22, will be a pivotal day for our church. That morning, David will be preaching a special message reflecting on where we’ve been in our capital campaign and sharing a bold vision for where we believe God is leading us next. Our Campus Renewal Team and pastors have been prayerfully working on a plan to improve every floor of this building—from the top down—so it can serve not only the many children God is blessing us with now, but also generations yet to come.
Toward the end of the morning worship service, we’ll enter a Called Church Conference, where the Campus Renewal Team will present their recommendation for how we can move forward together, building on the momentum and commitments already made through the campaign.
Then, Sunday evening, we’ll gather for a town hall meeting. You’ll be able to view floor plans, talk with committee members, ask questions, and have open discussion as a church family. The following Sunday, we plan to bring the recommendation before the church for a vote.
Just as those who came before us had vision and sacrificed faithfully so we could be where we are today, we now have the opportunity to prayerfully consider what God is calling us to do for the generations that will follow.
Listen to David share about this important update HERE.
