Inside: Register for Worship, Virtual VBS, Grad Sunday, Father's Day, Lord's Supper, Baptism, and Blood Drive.
On behalf of the Stewardship Committee, Deacons, and Staff, I want to thank our folks for their generosity and faithfulness in giving throughout the pandemic and period of the “stay at home” order. We understand that many churches have suffered greatly during this time. We give God the glory and we give you our gratitude that our giving is only slightly behind where we were this time last year. May we continue to contribute, as God enables, to His Kingdom through the ministries and mission of First Baptist Thomson!
However, we do ask that you give some of that consideration to our Ferguson Fund. We still owe $52,000.00 on our renovation loan. Not much progress is evident in the Ferguson building for the past few months, but you will begin to see more improvements in the very near future. Regardless, we still have a monthly payment that we need your help in fulfilling. As you are able to give above and beyond your tithe, I pray that you’ll remember this fund.
Dr. David Lambert, Lead Pastor
We are looking forward to this Sunday, June 14 as a day of celebration! Thanks to the generosity of Jay and Kelli Poston, we were able to baptize four adults, two children, and four teenagers as they made public professions of their faith in Jesus Christ on May 30. The pool allowed us to practice social distancing, for family members to be present, and for us to use safe, sanitary pool water to baptize people from multiple households. We can't wait to share with the church this Sunday through video.
Let us know you are coming! We need you to register for worship if you plan on attending in person. You can register online at www.fbcthomson.org or you can call the church office to make a reservation. This will help us plan more effectively and have enough overflow seating set up in the Fellowship Hall if necessary. We will continue to offer online services via live-streaming if you are unable to attend or don't feel comfortable attending in-person services yet. We look forward to worshiping in person and continuing to worship online with you!
Sunday, June 14
We will observe the Lord’s Supper and a benevolence offering will be received. We will be using prepackaged Lord’s Supper elements that will be pre-placed in the pews.
Help us spread the word about Concrete & Cranes Virtual VBS June 22-26! We'll provide a kit of materials(lessons, crafts, and music) to use at home and we will post a video each day online. Kits will be passed out on Friday, June 19, from 4-6 PM; Saturday, June 20, from 10 AM-Noon; and Sunday, June 21, from 12-1 PM underneath the portico. We are so excited to be able to provide an amazing opportunity for parents/guardians to intentionally instill faith at home through VBS.

While we are in uncertain financial times, it is as important as ever for us to trust in God’s providential care and to give so that the Kingdom’s work can continue. We are still doing ministry, supporting missions, helping with disaster relief, and we still have bills and staff to pay. We encourage you to mail or drop by the church office your tithe and gifts. We also have online giving available on our website and via the Realm Connect app.
Pastor David will help us better understand and appreciate how the Lord’s Supper and Baptism act as the signs and symbols of our faith. As we celebrate and observe these ordinances of the church, we pray that we will have a deeper insight through the preaching of God’s Word.
Join us in person, listen on WTHO 101.7 FM, or watch our live-stream online.
