One of my "Big Ideas" above was the simple argument that Christians cannot lose their salvation, and Peter does not suggest otherwise here. However, just as Christians can grow, they can also fall. It will not lead to their damnation, but it will lead to their lives being fruitless.

The ministry of a "right" teacher will result in churches being strengthened, people being saved, and Christians growing in their discipleship. The ministry of a "false" teacher will result in churches crumbling, people turning from Jesus, and Christians becoming enslaved to sin.

But make sure you have the "right" faith! The foundation of the faith is righteousness. The guardrail of the faith is knowledge. The result of the faith is grace and peace.
