  Rotation Sunday School

Sundays  9:45--10:45 AM
Children in grades 1-5

Welcome to Nazareth!

"In the Footsteps of Jesus"

A child-friendly, Bible-centered Sunday School program that seeks to create in children the character of Christ.

Children gather in the "Parable Playhouse" at 9:45 for music and prayer and then move with their grade level to the day's assigned workshop.  Rotation schedules are posted near all entrances to the Fifth Level.

Children rotate with their grade level each week to a different  location and teacher. Shepherds assigned to each grade level "flock" provide essential week-to-week contact and nurturing.

Bible stories - all related to a year-long theme - are taught for four week rotations. Children study the same Scripture each of the four weeks but in a different location and through a different medium.

A monthly newsletter, The Nazareth News, keeps parents informed about Scripture selections, teachers, and special events.

Here is a description of our different learning stations:

HolyWord Studios

Verbal and linguistic skills, as well as interpersonal skills,  play a major role in this workshop as children write and film their own scripts. They also learn to be more discerning viewers as they watch videos that illustrate Biblical truths.

Galilee Gym

In this setting, children explore the current Bible lesson through a variety of physical activities that encourage further development of visual, spatial, and bodily-kinesthetic skills. There is also emphasis on the building of team spirit as they participate in activities such as timed events and  relay races.

Scribe's Corner

This is Nazareth's information resource room. Computers are available as are Bible dictionaries and atlases. Using computer technology, children might take a virtual reality tour of the Holy Land. Various map activities provide not only historical perspectives but also help them to understand current world events.

Joseph's Carpentry Shop

In this workshop children use their visual and spatial skills to create unique projects that illustrate the Bible story they are currently studying.

Mary & Martha's Bed and Breakfast

Each week a new guest at this popular Nazareth stop shares the current Bible study as the children participate in activities related to their understanding the culture and history of Bible times.

Parable Playhouse

Here children make use of visual, spatial, and bodily-kinesthetic skills as they use and often create their own puppets to better understand the lessons of the Scriptures.
